Q: When is the library open?

A: Kuo Ting-yee Library of Institute of Modern History opens from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and closes on weekends and holidays.

Accessing the library

Q: Do I need to submit application to visit the library? Can visitors enter the library?

A: Kuo Ting-yee library welcomes the use of its collections by researchers and scholars not affiliated with Academia Sinica. Valid IDs are not required. Please store your bags in the locker before entering the library.

Interlibrary Loan

Q: How do I submit a request for interlibrary loan (ILL)?

Borrowing materials outside Academia Sinica:

IMH’s research fellows, postdoctoral fellows, and doctoral candidate fellows can submit requests for interlibrary loan if the material is not owned by any of the Academia Sinica libraries. Please contact sevlibs@gate.sinica.edu.tw to submit your request.

Borrowing materials fr Kuo Ting-yee Library:

For national ILL (NDDS), please contact your library to inquire about their interlibrary services. For international ILL (OCLC worldshare), please contact us (sevlibs@gate.sinica.edu.tw) before sending your request.

Q: How long does it take?

A:

NDDS (borrowing from libraries in Taiwan): 3-7 days.

International ILL (borrowing from libraries in other countries): 1-4 weeks.
